delivers economy and value without sacrificing safety in the Civic SI Sedan. Like its sibling, the Civic Si Coupe, the sedan also delivers a long list of standard features in a sporty package.

J.D. Power and Associates identified the Honda Civic as its top compact car in its 2007 Initial Quality Study. IQS serves as the industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality measured at 90 days of ownership and captures problems experienced by owners in quality of design and quality of production.

Honda Civic SI " prides itself on great fuel economy and a fun driving experience, but vehicle quality has always been the top priority," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda.

The Civic Si Sedan is designed to carve through twisty roads like a sports car. It can sprint from 0-60 while maintaining the everyday practicality of previous Civic models. Its exterior includes a low-profile rear spoiler wing and aero cladding. Inside, the Civic Si Sedan has a sporty interior with deeply bolstered seats, red fabric stitching, red backlit gauges as well as a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob.

Under the hood

Similar to the existing Civic Si Coupe, the Civic Si Sedan offers a 197-horsepower, 16-valve, DOHC 2.0 liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine with an 8,000 rpm redline. It is mated to a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission and a helical-type, limited slip differential.

Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control is standard (and also added to the Civic Si Coupe as standard equipment for 2007). The sedan offers 11.8-inch ventilated front disc brakes and 10.2-inch solid rear disc brakes. Suspension tuning is similar to Civic Si Coupe with the same spring rates and rear stabilizer bar diameter.

Convenience & Safety

Honda Civic SIA two-tier instrument panel is designed for quick reference meter. It includes a rev-limit indicator light and outside temperature gauge. The leather wrapped tilt and telescope steering wheel is standard.

As part of "Safety for Everyone" initiative, the Civic SI Sedan safety systems include Advanced Compatibility Engineering Body Structure for enhanced frontal crash compatibility. The ACE Body Structure enhances frontal collision energy management through a network of load bearing structures in the front of the vehicle.

extended its safety initiative to consider pedestrian injuries, too. The Civic's hood and fender areas are designed to deform if they contact the head of an adult or child.
